Paul Duerden’s volleyball journey began when he joined Canada’s National Team straight from Oakridge High School. Known for his skill and intensity, Paul quickly became one of the world’s top players. Over a 16-year international career, he starred as an opposite hitter for Canada and professionally across Europe, winning all four major European Cups and earning MVP honors in three, including the Champions League. As an analyst, Paul has covered both the Rio and Tokyo Olympics for CBC Sports. In 2018, he was inducted into Volleyball Canada’s Hall of Fame. Today, Paul shares his passion for the game as a coach with the Stratford Volleyball Club.
Steve Brinkman was a mainstay on the Canadian national senior men's team for 17 years, backstopping a powerhouse squad known for its blocking prowess. Steve competed in over 300 international matches for Canada. Brinkman, a middle attacker/blocker, also enjoyed a lengthy professional volleyball career, competing around the world, including in France, Italy, China and Russia, and winning both the prestigious World Club Championship and European Cup Championship. Today, Steve teaches a younger generation of volleyball players with the Forest City Volleyball Club.
