Power of Encouragement

Positive encouragement is powerful.  When we are encouraged, we are reminded that someone believes in us – that we are capable and supported, our hard work is noticed, and we have potential. Whether the encouragement provides a momentary boost or changes someone's confidence long-term, what we say to others makes a big difference in their life. Today’s Wellness Wednesday reminds us that when we feel better, we do better. 

 

Try this: 

As a class, group, or family:  

  • Watch the following clip, The Power of Positivity | Brain Games (3:11): https://youtu.be/kO1kgl0p-Hw  
  • After the video, talk about how it would feel to be each of the two participants in the activity.  
  • Share examples of times in your life that your outlook changed when you were supported or felt encouraged.  

 

Ask yourself, there is no wrong answer 

Is there a situation in your life that would change if you were encouraged or felt like you were supported?
