It is said that it takes a village to raise a child. For the second time this calendar year we have pivoted to full teacher-led remote learning throughout the board. Last week’s pivot was truly an ‘all hands-on deck’ board wide effort! To all those in front of the screens and all those behind the screens, THANK YOU! To our teaching staff, support staff, administrators, ICTS staff, Learning Services staff, and Senior Administration, THANK YOU!
To all who are supporting in-person learning for those students with special education needs who have difficulty accessing the curriculum through remote learning, THANK YOU! To our teachers, educational assistants, administrators, secretaries, and custodians who have worked very hard to create safe and supportive learning environments for our students, THANK YOU! To our central Special Education Learning Services and Professional Support staff for all your work supporting the continued learning of our students, THANK YOU!
Last Friday evening the Catholic Principals Council of Ontario (CPCO) hosted its Virtual Gala and Awards Ceremony. Among the honourees was Mary Ellen Cornelius who was named one of the Principals of the Year. As was shared in the Programme:
Mary Ellen Cornelius has worked in Catholic education for over 30 years. She has spent her entire educational journey with the London District Catholic School Board, as a student, volunteer, educational assistant, parent, teacher and now an administrator. Mary Ellen attributes her strong connections with her students, staff and parents to her personal involvement in athletics, the arts and the faith life of her school community.
Congratulations Principal Cornelius, an honour well-deserved!
