Today, one of the LDCSB's Indigenous cultural teachers, Mr. Adam Sturgeon, will be receiving an Atlohsa Peace Award.
The award honours those "who have made a social, cultural or educational contribution to the spirit of truth and reconciliation. Honourees will represent the Seven Sacred Teachings of wisdom, love, respect, bravery, honestly, humility and truth."
The LDCSB's students and teachers have been benefiting from Adam's teachings and his genuine, loving, and charismatic presence for the past two years.
We are extremely proud that his hard work with our Board, along with his other contributions to the community, has been recognized by the Atlohsa Peace Award Committee.
