Hey Flames!
Did you know that 1 in 5 kids (that's 20%) in Ontario live in poverty? There are so many families and children in need and although we can’t fix the poverty problem, we are wanting to make a small dent in our community.
WE HAVE A CHALLENGE FOR YOU!
As a school community, we want to help provide Blessing Bags by collecting hygiene items! We are asking STA students, staff and families to help us with the collection of 1000 of the following items.
- 1000 toothbrushes
- 1000 toothpastes
- 1000 shampoos
- 1000 body soaps
- 1000 lip balms
- 1000 deodorants
There will be a couple table outside the Main Office in the forum with 6 boxes - each clearly marked. We are asking you to use these boxes for your donations.
This initiative is for our whole school community. No donation is too small. You can donate one item, one of each item or a box if items. Your donation is entirely up to you.
Please keep an eye on school and club social media, the announcements, and school initiatives for updates and ways to participate.
Flames, YOU can make a teenager’s Christmas a little more special this year!
All donations will be matched with teens in the community through the Jansen Christmas Toy Drive. This initiative in its 9th year of helping less fortunate youth and teens in our city by providing them gently-used, nearly new or new items to make their Christmas better.
