2. Ontario Literacy Requirement

​All grade 10 students are eligible to write the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test.  Visit the Education Quality and Accountability Office website for more information.

 

​​3. Community Service Hours

​All students pursuing the Ontario Secondary School Diploma must complete 40 hours of approved community service. Click here​ to view more information about the LDCSB policies regarding Community Service and to download the Community Service Hours log sheet.

Please remember that helping in our community does not include working for a business. If you are volunteering at a business, doing work that another person would be paid to do​​ this does not count as Community Involvement Hours towards your graduation. Please see the back of the Community Service form for examples of eligible activities.
 
Completed forms must be signed by the activity organizer as well as parent/guardian and can be dropped off to the Guidance Office. We encourage all students to keep a copy or take a picture of the form before handing it in for their records.

February 1: Equal Consideration Date - when all applications will be given equal consideration.  Some programs will continue to accept applications after this date, but not all.  It is best to apply before this date.​
 
May 1: Deadline to Confirm Offers of Admission
 
Mid June: Tuition Deposit Due at the Colleges - The colleges require payment of a tuition deposit in June to secure your spot in your program.  Each college sets its own tuition deposit amount and payment deadline.  This information will be communicated to you by the college.

Note: The OUAC will continue to process applications received after this date and distribute them to the Ontario universities; however, specific university deadlines will apply.
